Our podcast, Mental Horizons, will record a live show on the podcast stage at the SXSW (South by Southwest) Festival on March 17, 2020 in Austin, Texas. The invitation to participate in this event came this month and was a total surprise! We started the podcast a year ago to raise awareness about methods for recovering from serious mental illness and have a small but growing listenership.

“This was an unexpected honor” says Virgil Stucker, host of Mental Horizons. “We’re excited about the impact this event will have on the visibility of our show, where we have optimistic conversations with solution-oriented leaders about the treatment of serious mental health concerns such as schizophrenia, major depression, bipolar disorder, and OCD.”

According to the event website “South By Southwest dedicates itself to helping creative people achieve their goals” and “SXSW proves that the most unexpected discoveries happen when diverse topics and people come together.”

Planning to be a SXSW? Come listen to our live show! You can find us Tuesday, March 17th from 12:30PM – 1:30PM at the Hilton Austin Downtown in Room 406 (4th floor).

The live podcast episode, hosted by Virgil, will be with guests Carlene MacMillan, M.D., founder and CEO of Brooklyn Minds, and Jordan Shapiro, PhD, a world-renowned thought-leader and author of The New Childhood and will be recorded in both video and audio formats.

The recorded show will be available after March 17 on the Mental Horizons podcast, which can be found on iTunes, Stitcher, and SoundCloud.
